Terms of Service

Last updated October 10, 2026

The short version

GRAMS helps you track what you eat. Its numbers are estimates, not medical advice, and what you do with them is your decision. You own what you log. Premium is optional, the trial never charges you, and you can cancel or delete your account at any time.

1. Agreeing to these terms

By ticking the box to accept these Terms, or by creating an account or using GRAMS (“we”, “us”), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use GRAMS.

2. Who can use GRAMS

You must be at least 16 years old to use GRAMS.

3. Not medical advice

GRAMS is for general information and tracking only. It is not medical, nutritional, or dietary advice, and it doesn't replace a doctor, dietitian, or other health professional. Calorie and macro estimates (from AI, the barcode database, nutrition labels, or our calculations), suggested targets, weekly check-ins, and recipe ideas can be inaccurate. Talk to a health professional before changing how you eat, especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a medical condition, or have a history of disordered eating.

4. Allergies and food safety

Allergy warnings, product information, and recipe ideas depend on third-party data and AI, and can be incomplete or wrong. They are a convenience, not a guarantee. Always read product labels and check ingredients yourself if you have an allergy or dietary restriction, and follow safe food-handling and cooking practices.

5. Your choices and your risk

You decide what you eat, how much, and whether to follow any target, suggestion, or recipe GRAMS shows you. You use GRAMS at your own risk, and you are responsible for those decisions and their results, including any effect on your health, weight, or wellbeing, and any reaction to food you choose to eat.

6. Your account

Keep your login details secure and your information accurate. You're responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at the address below if you think someone else has accessed it.

7. Your content

You own the meals, photos, and other information you add to GRAMS. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide GRAMS to you, including sending it to the service providers described in the Privacy Policy (for example, meal photos to Google's Gemini AI for analysis). Only upload photos of food, not people or personal documents, and only content you have the right to share.

8. Using GRAMS fairly

Don't misuse GRAMS: no attempts to break or overload it, get around feature limits, access other people's data, scrape it, or use it for anything illegal. We may limit or suspend accounts that do.

9. Premium, the free trial, and payments

  • Free trial: new accounts get 30 days of Premium. No payment information is needed, and the trial simply ends. You are never charged for it.
  • Subscriptions: Premium is billed monthly or yearly through our payment processor, Stripe, at the price shown when you subscribe, and renews automatically until you cancel.
  • Cancelling: cancel any time from Profile → Manage subscription. You keep Premium until the end of the period you've paid for.
  • Founding member price: if you subscribe at a founding member price, you keep that price for as long as your subscription stays active. If you cancel and subscribe again later, the price at that time applies.
  • Price changes: we'll give you notice before any price change that affects your subscription.
  • Refunds: except where required by law, payments aren't refundable for partial periods. If something went wrong, email us and we'll look at it.

10. Third-party services

GRAMS relies on services run by other companies, including Google (Gemini AI, Google Play, Sign in with Google), Open Food Facts, Stripe, Supabase, and Vercel. We aren't responsible for their accuracy, availability, or actions, and your use of them may also be covered by their own terms.

11. Changes to GRAMS

GRAMS is still growing. We may add, change, or remove features, and we'll try to give reasonable notice of changes that meaningfully affect you.

12. No warranties

GRAMS is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties or conditions of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties or conditions of merchantable quality, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement, and we don't promise that GRAMS will always be available, error-free, secure, or accurate.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, or for decisions you make based on GRAMS's estimates or suggestions. Our total liability to you for all claims relating to GRAMS is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or CAD $100. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.

14. Indemnity

To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover any claims, losses, and reasonable costs (including legal fees) that we face because of your misuse of GRAMS, content you upload, or your breaking these Terms or the law.

15. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account, which also cancels any subscription. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms. Sections 5, 10, 12, 13, 14, 16, and 18 continue to apply after your account ends.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and any dispute will be handled by the courts of Alberta. If you live elsewhere, you still keep any rights your local consumer laws give you that can't be waived.

17. Changes to these terms

We'll update these Terms as GRAMS changes, keep the date above current, and let you know in the app about important changes. Continuing to use GRAMS after an update means you accept the updated Terms.

18. General

  • Whole agreement: these Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about GRAMS.
  • Severability: if a court finds any part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
  • No waiver: if we don't enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later.
  • Transfer: we may transfer these Terms and your account to a company that operates GRAMS in the future, such as a corporation we form or a buyer. You may not transfer them without our permission.
  • Things outside our control: we aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as outages at our service providers, internet failures, or natural disasters.
